Nigerian consulate in Paterson
Nigeria keeps no consulate in Paterson, and the Consulate General of Nigeria in New York is where the paperwork goes.
Which consulate covers Paterson
It makes no difference which office is nearest: New Jersey is assigned to New York and a file lodged elsewhere does not transfer.
Allow 33 min for the 20 miles between Paterson and New York.
Other New Jersey places in the same position: Edison (35 mi), Trenton (63 mi), Jersey City (7 mi).
From Paterson, without travelling
Start with what can be settled from home:
- A visa application, begun online and finished at a private centre in Houston
- Dual citizenship rules, worth reading before you take the US oath, not after
- National Identification Number, issued by the NIMC and needed before any passport application
