Fees and requirements
Only one of Nigeria's three missions in the United States publishes a fee table: the Consulate General in Atlanta. The Embassy and the New York consulate publish none, so these are figures to confirm with your own office rather than a national price list.
Published fees
| Document | Fee |
|---|---|
| 32-page passport, 5 years | $142 |
| 64-page passport, 5 years | $162 |
| 64-page passport, 10 years (18 and over only) | $242 |
| Lost or stolen passport, surcharge | $370 |
| Emergency Travel Certificate | $150, money order |
| Age declaration | $60 |
The surcharge for a lost or stolen passport is larger than the passport itself. The ten-year booklet is closed to under-18s, who get five years whichever option is paid for.
Which office publishes what

What almost every procedure asks for

Six requirements repeat across nearly every Nigerian consular procedure. They carry no order: all of them apply at once.
- A National Identification Number that matches your birth certificate
- Names in the same order on every document
- A completed online form and its payment slip
- The original document for sighting, not just a copy
- A self-addressed return envelope with postage
- An appointment slip for anything done at a counter
Where fees are not published
Visa fees come from the portal or the visa centre at the time of application, not from a consulate. Police clearance and birth records are issued in Nigeria and priced there. This site does not reproduce amounts it cannot verify: an out-of-date figure does more harm than no figure.
nigerianconsulates.us is an independent guide to Nigeria’s consular offices in the United States. We are not the Nigerian Embassy, any Consulate General, or any government body.
We do not book appointments and we do not sell them. Details are checked regularly and can change without notice: confirm with the office before you travel.
