Nigerian consulate in Rockford
Nigeria keeps no consulate in Rockford, and the Consulate General of Nigeria in New York is where the paperwork goes.
Which consulate covers Rockford
What decides this is the state line, not the map. Illinois belongs to New York and there is no choosing another office.
It is 879 miles from Rockford, roughly 16 h 42 min, so it pays to bundle errands into one trip.
Other Illinois places in the same position: Springfield (919 mi), Chicago (794 mi), Joliet (806 mi).
From Rockford, without travelling
Start with what can be settled from home:
- Passport renewal, started on a website, with the counter only as the last step
- Dual citizenship rules, worth reading before you take the US oath, not after
- National Identification Number, issued by the NIMC and needed before any passport application
nigerianconsulates.us is an independent guide to Nigeria’s consular offices in the United States. We are not the Nigerian Embassy, any Consulate General, or any government body.
We do not book appointments and we do not sell them. Details are checked regularly and can change without notice: confirm with the office before you travel.
