Nigerian consulate in New Orleans
New Orleans has no Nigerian consular office of its own. Its file belongs to the Consulate General of Nigeria in Atlanta.
Which consulate covers New Orleans
It makes no difference which office is nearest: Louisiana is assigned to Atlanta and a file lodged elsewhere does not transfer.
Allow 8 h 57 min for the 486 miles between New Orleans and Atlanta.
Also handled from Atlanta, elsewhere in Louisiana: Lafayette (597 mi), Shreveport (608 mi), Baton Rouge (544 mi).
From New Orleans, without travelling
None of this needs a journey:
- A visa application, begun online and finished at a private centre in Houston
- Police clearance certificate, requested from the Nigeria Police Force, never from a consulate
- Birth certificate, issued in Nigeria by the National Population Commission
