Nigerian consulate in San Francisco
San Francisco has no Nigerian consular office of its own. Its file belongs to the Nigerian Embassy in Washington, D.C.
Which consulate covers San Francisco
No Nigerian source assigns California to a consulate. Washington, D.C. is the mission left over once New York and Atlanta publish theirs, and it is where San Francisco is handled in practice.
It is 2,811 miles from San Francisco, roughly 49 h 31 min, so it pays to bundle errands into one trip.
Also handled from Washington, D.C., elsewhere in California: Sacramento (2,727 mi), Stockton (2,775 mi), Fresno (2,798 mi).
From San Francisco, without travelling
None of this needs a journey:
- Passport renewal, started on a website, with the counter only as the last step
- Police clearance certificate, requested from the Nigeria Police Force, never from a consulate
- Birth certificate, issued in Nigeria by the National Population Commission
nigerianconsulates.us is an independent guide to Nigeria’s consular offices in the United States. We are not the Nigerian Embassy, any Consulate General, or any government body.
We do not book appointments and we do not sell them. Details are checked regularly and can change without notice: confirm with the office before you travel.
